Hey anyone got this yet? Any thoughts on what it is like or whether you will or will not get it?

I am in a Austar area and apparently can't get it.

Just had a look, it's pretty darn expensive!
Get started pack is $20 a month, and extra packs are $10 a month.

That's already $30 a month, then you need an xbox live account which is ~$65 for a year.

Then the stream adds to your download quota as well.

That is actually really cheap for Foxtel. I am thinking of giving it a whirl just don't know if I would use it all that much. I had Foxtel for over 5 years and only ever watched the Sport and Lifestyle channels. The kids occasionally watched it. The fact that Foxsport channels have been condensed into 1 channel and there is no Lifestyle channel is keeping me from checking this out and just holding out until my new house is finished so I can get Foxtel proper again.

Considering there is no installation/additional hardware involved, I think it's expensive.

And taking into account the usage per hour:

High Quality: 800mb
Medium Quality: 540mb
Low Quality: 360mb

those with your average joe isp plan arn't going to be able to watch foxtel as they would otherwise watch FTA.

I just recently gave up my foxtel which i had for over two years, with the price of internet coming down and the speeds going up, I found myself downloading and watching series (in good quality) much sooner then foxtel could deliver. IMO whats the point of paying for tv when it isnt even up to date.

All foxtel is, is an expensive rerun service. Dont be a fool the internet is your friend Smile

I watched an ep of South Park the other night, just so I could use the service.

It streamed really well over iinet ADSL+ and let me pause and rewind but at $2.95 for something I can "acquire" its a bit steep.

I think for a rare on demand service for those times when you have no other option (and for the life of me I can't think of a series of occurrences that would create that situation) its 'ok' but otherwise I think its just something to browse through and find what I want to "acquire" via other sources.
