That is one ridiculous list of cars!!! Its going to be interesting how damage will change the game. I know so many mates who just ram full speed into other cars and rails to get around corners

I dont know whether to buy this or not :? havent really been a fan of gt before but saw some youtube vids of guys drifting in prologue and it looked like so much fun

Well if you hold on for a few days my review will be up and that might help you make up your mind. If you havent liked any of the previous games though I dont see why you would all of a sudden like this one, from what I can tell the formula is all pretty much the same as previous titles.

I think ill hold on for your review, because im torn between whether to get this or not too. I love racing games, but ive never been big on these 'sim' type ones.

Usually im more of a burnout style racer but i didnt get into paradise city, maybe my tastes are maturing I dont know, probs be best to borrow this from a mate first im thinking.

I dont think anyone would complain how it looks, or the sheer volume of cars and tracks. Im just a little worried that its going to be too clinical in its execution and not bring anything new to the series in terms of the progression of gameplay. I mean if the havent fixed the AI and crash system then its just going to be prologue with a bigger car and track list. After six years I think we should expect more than that. Anyway we will see what a week of playing will do to unravel these questions

In my opinion, which is by no means the offical thoughts of AAG, Gran Turismo 5 is actually one of the worst - if not the title taker - games I have played this year. And ive played Alpha Protocol. I am severly disappointed by this, as I was expecting it to have me stuck on my under-used Playstation for weeks or even months. Oh well, guess it gives me good reign to get stuck into other games ive yet to give a good go like Castlevania.

Primarily, its the unbearably sticky and boring driving. Which, corrent me if im wrong, is the most important part of a driving game. Especially one which claims to be the 'real driving simulator'. Its unrealistic and doesnt bring any fun to the table for me.

Next up is the graphics. They havent improved whatsoever on Proluge. It looks plain and simply like a 5-6 year old title. The cars textures are amazing, and are very smooth, but the cars models looks shite and the environments are bland and fail to capture the essence of driving on such exotic and reknowned tracks.

I think if it was released as a launch title it would have been a great game, but that was 5 years ago. We've had tons of better driving games in those years (Project Gotham, Forza, late Need for Speeds), and as a 'sim', Forza 3 completely destroys it in every aspect apart from the sheer amount of cars. Speaking of which, i do love the range of old/new classics and concepts that GT5 has. Its actually quite astonishing when you think about it.

It looks like there is a patch coming out to upgrade some more of the standard cars to premium. Now if they can just update the driver AI and speed up the loading times that would make me very happy

The loading time on this game shit me up the wall. But i am starting to enjoy the career. Even though i have many many issues with this game. I was even considering making a GT5 rant video but i wont. So yea enjoying the racing especially from inside the car. Feels a lot better then from third person view.
